When I donated to their new campaign some four years ago, they promised early access to the beta as a perk. It has been disappointing not to get anything but announcements crowing about their successes. They do now have a link somewhere online to join the beta, but for that they insist on having your twitter and facebook IDs, and as it happens, I cancelled and deleted both of those a few months ago for the very reasons they quote for using Panquake instead. So, even that route is blocked to me.
Anyway, here is hoping they do well, even if they are rather unwelcoming.
I worked for a startup aviation firm 15 years ago. The IT guru was in his late 70’s. We used IBM software and he kept the servers in his house. I asked him why we didn’t progress to the more popular MS suite of software. He said it was because all of our laptops were nodes of the system.
